South-Eastern Poland

 

Day 1:

Arriving to Cracow or Rzeszow. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 2:

Łańcut: the Palace famous as one of the most beautiful aristocratic residences in Poland – visiting the interior, a walk through the palace’s park and a visit to the exhibition of horse carriages (one of the biggest collection in Poland). Transfer to the Bieszczady Mountains – one of the wildest mountain area in Poland. A visit to the Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok (the largest open-air museum in Poland) or a boat cruise on the Solina Lake (the water reservoir built in the mountains in 1960ies).

 

Day 3:

A coach tour along the so-called Bieszczady’s Circular: a visit to the wooden orthodox church in Równia, a break for hiking to Połonina Wetlińska (one of the most beautiful mountain ridges). Rafting on the San River or a narrow-gauge railway ride through the wild mountains.

 

Day 4:

Przemyśl – a multicultural city near the Ukrainian border: a walk through the very picturesque Old Town (located on the hills over the San River Valley). Transfer to Roztoczański National Park. Dinner with a bonfire.

 

Day 5:

Zwierzyniec: the Palace on the Water, the Museum of the Nature of Roztoczański National Park, a walk through the forest nature reserve with a chance to see half-wild Polish horses. Transfer to Zamość.

 

Day 6:

Zamość – the town located by J. Zamoyski in the 16-th century, so-called the Perfect Renaissance Town: the Market Square with the Town Hall and beautiful Armenian merchants’ houses, the Cathedral with the graves of Zamoyski and his family, the synagogue and the building of former Jewish bath Mykwa, remains of former fortifications of the town-fortress. Transfer to the nature reserve of Szumy nad Tanwią. A short walk along the Tanew River that flows in a deep gorge and forms many very small waterfalls (Szumy). Transfer to Kazimierz Dolny.

 

Day 7:

A walking tour in Kazimierz Dolny – a very picturesque small town on the Vistula River: the Market Square, admiring a view from the Hill of Three Crosses. Transfer to Warsaw Airport.

 

On the 2nd day it is possible to make sightseeing in Cracow (as mentioned in the program of the tour “Little Poland”) and make the whole journey one day longer.

On the last day it is possible to make sightseeing in Warsaw (as mentioned in the program of the tour “Warsaw and Pomerania”) and make the whole journey one day longer.
